Learn how to make chocolate dipped strawberries at home!
Materials:
- Strawberries
- Chocolate chips (any kind you like)
- Sprinkles (optional)
- Microwave safe bowl
- Plates
- Spoons
- Parchment paper
Step one: Wash your hands and your strawberries. Pat the strawberries dry with a paper towel. This will help the chocolate stick more smoothly.
Step two: Place a piece of parchment paper over a plate. The parchment paper will help prevent sticking when you set your chocolate covered strawberries to dry.
Step three: Pour the chocolate chips in a bowl. The amount you need depends on how many strawberries you plan to make.
Step four: Microwave the chocolate chips for one minute. With your parent’s supervision as well as a potholder carefully take the hot bowl out of the microwave and stir. Your bag of chocolate chips may have preferred melting instructions on the package as well.
Step five: If your chocolate chips aren’t completely melted, microwave them again for 15 seconds and stir. Repeat this step until all the chips are melted.
Step six: Begin dipping your strawberries in the chocolate. You may need to spin your strawberry to make sure all the sides are covered. Place your dipped strawberries on your plate with parchment paper to allow them to harden. Make sure you work fast enough so your chocolate doesn’t harden.
Step seven: Once the chocolate on your strawberries has hardened you can start decorating. You can drizzle the extra chocolate over your strawberries, you may need to re-melt your chocolate chips. You can use a spoon to drip the chocolate over the strawberry on the parchment paper or over the bowl by moving the spoon back and forth over the strawberry.
Step eight: Once you like the amount of chocolate drizzle you can add sprinkles
