It’s important to remember that your feelings are true for YOU! But when we feel overwhelmed, sometimes it’s easy to talk down to ourselves in a negative way. If you find these thoughts creeping in, try rephrasing your emotions in a way that shows gratitude. You are in control, and tomorrow is always a new day. Think about a time when a friend or loved one was feeling down. You wouldn’t talk to them in a self-defeating way. You would do your absolute best to cheer them up and remind them how great they are! Keep that energy when it comes to how you treat yourself too. Like you’re speaking to your best friend. 

Instead of saying … “I HAVE TO” try to say  —————————–> “I GET TO”

Instead of saying … “I SHOULD” try to say  ——————————> “I CHOOSE TO”

Instead of saying … “I FAILED” try to say    ——————————-> “I LEARNED”

Instead of saying … “I SHOULD HAVE” try to say ———————–> “NEXT TIME I WILL”

Remember to be kind, not only to others but to yourself as well! When you choose to shift your perspective to the things you can control and shy away from negative self-talk, the goal is to feel lighter and more confident.
