Materials:
- Orange bell peppers
- Baking dish with high edges
- Foil
- Knife or pumpkin carving kit with parents’ permission
- Something to stuff your bell peppers with, for this recipe I used:
- Ground beef
- Rice
- Tomato sauce
- Sauce pan
- Fry pan
- Salt
- Pepper
Steps:
1. Make what you are going to stuff your bell peppers with. For this recipe I made a beef and rice mix but you can also try things like spaghetti or beans. To make the beef and rice mix start by making your rice in your preferred method
2. Next brown your beef. Take a fry pan and spray it with cooking spray and place over high heat
3. Put your ground beef in the pan
4. Keep mixing the ground beef until it is browned
5. Drain the grease from your meat
6. Add spices to taste. I added salt and pepper
7. Next add the rice to your meat and mix together
8. Add roughly ½ can of a 16oz tomato sauce. Add more or less depending on preference
9. Now you can start decorating your bell peppers
10. First with your parents permission cut the top off of your bell pepper
11. Next pull the seeds and middle out of your bell pepper
12. Rinse your bell pepper
13. Carefully carve your bell peppers. Be creative!
14. After decorating, start stuffing your bell peppers. I added the beef and rice mixture inside my bell pepper
15. Place your bell peppers in your baking dish and add some tomato sauce to the top of your bell pepper and inside the bottom of your baking dish. You can also optionally add a few spoonfuls of water to the bottom of the dish
16. Cover your dish with aluminum foil
17. Bake in the oven for roughly 30 minutes to an hour at 350 degrees depending on how soft you want your bell peppers to be
18. Take out of the oven and enjoy!
