  • 2-4 very ripe bananas, depends on size of banana and if you want the bread to have a strong banana taste
  • 1/3 cup of melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt about ½ teaspoon
  • 1/2 – 1 cup of sugar depending on how sweet you want your bread
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cup flour
  • Optional add ins such as walnuts or cinnamon


  • Large bowl
  • Fork
  • Spoon
  • Buttered or greased bread baking pan
  • Oven


1.  Mash your bananas with a fork in your large bowl

2. Stir in the butter, baking soda, salt, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and flour

3. Stir in any add ins

4. Pour into baking pan

5. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
