Juggling is the act of continuously tossing objects into the air and catching them while keeping at least one of those objects in the air at all times.  Juggling builds hand-eye coordination and improves reaction time, reflexes, spatial awareness, and more.  The thought of being able to juggle might seem impossible, but with a clear path and some practice, anyone can learn how to juggle!

Instructions:

Perform the following six steps as many times as needed to learn how to juggle.  Be patient and understand that learning to juggle requires focus and dedication.

Step 1: Single Ball Tosses (10-20 times each side)

Toss and catch a ball with the same hand 10 to 20 times.

Step 2: Single Ball Back and Forth (10-20 times each side)

Toss a ball from one hand to the other 10 to 20 times on each side.

Step 3: Two Ball Alternating Tosses (20 times total)

Hold one ball in each hand.  Toss up one of the balls and catch it with the same hand that you tossed it with.  Then repeat the movement on the other side.  Perform 20 times total.

Step 4: Toss and Switch (10 times each direction)

Hold one ball in each hand.  Toss up one of the balls and catch it with the opposite hand.  While the ball you tossed is in the air, hand the ball that you did not toss to the other side.  Perform 10 times in each direction.

NOTE: This step is one of the trickier steps, please refer to the video tutorial if needed!

Step 5: Double Tosses (10 times each direction)

Hold one ball in your right hand and two balls in your left.  Toss one of the balls in your left hand to the other side.  Immediately after, toss the ball in your right hand to the other side.  Think of the movement as a trade.  Catch both balls and repeat 10 times in each direction.

Step 6: JUGGLING!

Now you should have practiced all of the fundamental movements required for juggling.  This step involves putting those movements together to juggle!

Hold one ball in your right hand and two balls in your left.  Toss one of the balls in your left hand to the other side.  Immediately after, toss the ball in your right hand to the other side.  Before the second ball that you tossed lands, toss the third ball up into the air to the other side.  Catch all of the balls that you tossed and repeat.

NOTE: This step is one of the trickier steps, please refer to the video tutorial if needed!

PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!

Don’t stress out if you can’t seem to juggle right away.  It can take hours and hours of practice before you get it down.  Remember to practice the fundamental movements as much as possible before attempting to juggle.
