Create some fun & pretty flowers from coffee filters! Show us your flowers in the comments below!
Materials:
- Coffee filters
- Food Coloring
- Water
- Containers
- Construction paper
- Cups or glasses
- Tape
- Scissors
Step 1: Choose the number of colors that you would like to dye your coffee filters & set up that number of containers. Add water to your containers.
Step 2: Add your dye to the water
Step 3: Place your coffee filter in one of the colors and then place it on a cup to dry. Repeat this process until you have as many dyed coffee filters as you would like.
Step 4: While waiting for your coffee filters to dry, cut your green construction paper into slips.
Step 5: Once your coffee filters are dry take 4 of them and fold them into a triangle.
Step 6: Using your scissors cut a squiggle pattern along the top edge of your coffee filters and then unfold.
Step 7: Separate your coffee filters and cut to the middle of one.
Step 8: Beginning at the cut, roll your coffee filter and then tape to hold.
Step 9: Place the rolled coffee filter on another cut coffee filter and roll.
Step 10: Repeat steps 8 & 9 for the other two coffee filters.
Step 11: Place your two rolled flowers together by cutting the bottom off of one set and placing it into the other.
Step 12: Take your green construction paper and roll a stem, tape to secure.
Step 13: Cut the bottom of the coffee filter flower & feed the stem through.
Step 14: Tape to secure
