Have you ever tried playing with tangrams in school? Make your own tangrams with these step by step instructions! Decorate them with paint, washi tape or construction paper!
Materials:
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Washi tape/paint/construction paper
- Ruler/measuring tape
- Pen/Pencil/Marker
Step 1: Make sure that your cardstock is a perfect square, I measured mine to 8.5in x 8.5in
Step 2: Cut out your cardstock square
Step 3: Measure and draw your lines to create 7 separate sections. The shapes that you are going to create are: 2 large equilateral triangles, 2 small equilateral triangles, 1 medium equilateral triangle, 1 square and 1 rhombus.
Step 4: Cut out all of your shapes
Step 5: Decorate your shapes with your washi tape, your paint or your construction paper. Each shape does not need to have the same decoration.
Step 6: Congratulations, you have created your own set of tangrams! Time to create fun images and practice your shapes with your new tangrams!
